Notorious" Film Features A Soundtrack With Biggie's Close Friends And Fans ShareThis December 30, 2008 8:25 p.m. EST Stephanie Sims - Celebrity News Service Reporter New York, NY (CNS) - The Notorious B.I.G. biopic, "Notorious," will be released in theaters January 16, and several hip hop and rap greats will be on the movie's soundtrack, which hits stores January 13. The film will chronicle the life of the rapper, formerly known as Christopher Wallace - his beginnings in Brooklyn, N.Y., his rise to fame and his untimely murder. Jay-Z, Jadakiss, Santagold and P. Diddy are featured on the soundtrack, with some tracks produced by Kanye West and some never-released tracks of B.I.G.'s. A highlight from the soundtrack is "One More Chance," a rap duet with B.I.G. and his son, Christopher Wallace Jr. There's also a track called "Letter to B.I.G." by Jadakiss featuring Faith Evans. Faith Evans was Biggie Smalls' wife, but the rapper carried on a not-so-secret affair with many, and had a famous affair with rapper Lil' Kim. The film plays heavily on this affair. "Notorious" features several unknown actors; Jamal "Gravy" Woolard plays Biggie, Derek Luke plays P. Diddy, Antonique Smith plays Faith Evans and Anthony Mackie plays Tupac Shakur. However, the film gets some star credit with Angela Basset playing Biggie's mother. The rapper's murder is still unsolved to this day. P. Diddy told MTV.com the rapper's mother really wanted the movie to be done. "[BIG's] mother is the driving force of the movie getting done," he said. "I wanted the movie to speak for itself, so I haven't been out there overhyping it. But truth be told, I was blown away by the movie. I was entertained by the movie. The movie is what was happening.
